So...finally got a note wedged into our front door stating that we should expect 20 - 25 trick-or-treat participants this year. Wow...how can I possibly buy that much candy? F*ckers...Now I gotta rush to Walgreens or something and pick up a bag of whatever the f*ck's left on the bottom of the barrel. Speaking of bottom of the barrel, what was the worst treat you got as a kid when you were trick-or-treating? The worst I ever got was them little box of Sunmaid Raisins...*sticks finger down throat*...I'm not a big fan of dehydrated fruit (which I believe should by eaten in its full, hydrated, yummilicious glory!), and I'm particularly vehemently against raisins. You wanna eat fruit that was rottened on purpose, that's your biz. But with the abundance of fresh fruit at every local fruit stand, why the hell bother? Anyhoo, the best treat I've ever gotten was this dude that handed out full sized boxes of Gobstoppers. Damn was that family generous!

So I got this voicemail from someone I was NOT expecting...perhaps even the LAST person I'd expect to hear from escpecially in a sh*tty economy: A RECRUITER!!!
This surprising change in events leads me to believe that at least for the financial sector things are looking up! I have mixed feelings about this call. On one hand I'm kinda pissed off that the recruiter didn't call me ages ago like she promised (where's the loyalty, you commission-based salary whore?!!). On the other hand, I'm happy cuz 1) I have leverage in this firm since there's so few of us left, and 2) for the first time in over a year I have options! I hope this is an indicator that the job market has finally found its bottom and is on its way to a rebound...or it could be a false alarm. Who knows...
BTW, please feel free to leave a comment via the link near the time stamp. I didn't go trudging through the world-wide web looking for one that accepts new users for nothin' y'know!

This morning while waiting for the shuttle to take me to downtown SF, I was stuffing the morning paper in my laptop bag and simultaneously rummaging to get my digital radio walkman out. In the meantime, I didn't notice that the line we were all in moved up a notch while I didn't, which created a gap in the line...probably about 4 feet between me and the person in front of me. In the balancing act I was putting on, this f*ckin' bitch behind me taps me on the shoulder and tells me to move up! I was like "excuse me?". By then everyone was looking at us because it was quite obvious to the 10 people or so waiting for the shuttle that I was starting to get a bit edgy with this motherf*ckin' waste of resources. With a nervous laugh (probably because she sensed I was imagining her being dropped into a cauldron of boiling pitch) she retorted, "I just want to preserve space...ha ha ha ha..." I retorted in a booming voice, "Well...it seems like you're in a rush to board the shuttle. Take my place instead...I insist! I hope you get to work a little earlier as a result!" With that, I stepped aside and ushered her to close the gap with a mocking bow and extended hand. Just the mere humiliation and the stifled laughter from the now 15 peeps in line was vindication enough.
Moral of the story: Don't treat me like I'm in the 5th grade and I won't treat you like the simpleton you are

Why is it that people develop an acute case of extreme short-term memory when they are assigned a number waiting for their take out meal? I was at the Rincon Ctr.'s Yank Sing Express waiting for my food. Every time the lady barked out a number, almost everyone around me quietly read off their little tickets to make sure they weren't the ones called...and I mean EVERY time! Yeesh...I guess 3 digits is too much to fuggin' memorize...idiots...
Speaking of idiots, my coworker and I got into a discussion about how useless my job is. If there ever were to be a war where governments and economies goes down the sh*t drain, I'd have no practical skills to barter with. I'd hafta sell my virgin ass to barely feed myself. Grim thought...

Red Dragon -
...First and foremost, I think it's a fitting "end" to the series by recounting where it all began. Anthony Hopkins reprises his role as Dr. Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter. He did a pretty good job of capturing the essence of Dr. Lecter, but age has caught up to him which obviously works against an effective prequel. Ed Norton did a fairly good job playing the male counterpart-predecessor to Agent Starling. The true "gem" of the movie would have to be Ralph Fiennes who I think is a tremendous actor who got robbed from an Oscar when he was nominated for best supporting actor for his role as the sadistic Amon Goeth in Schindler's List (we won't get into that now). Anyhoo, the movie was adequate despite strong momentum generated by the actors. There's really no mystery to be solved, and I personally don't think the audience was challenged enough.
High Crimes -
1/2...I'll be the first to admit that the chemistry between Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman is slowly waning and increasingly ineffective. You take all the movies they've done together (formula wise), and slap it into this movie. I mean, there's nothing wrong with repeating what was successful in the past...except if you're trying to make a movie. I dunno about other peeps who watched this, but I figured it all out within the first half hour of this "who-dun-it" movie. Predictability is a no-no in my books. Acting was fair...actors looking older than before...and Jim Caviezel (the creepy guy that starred opposite of J-Lo in Angel Eyes) talks as slow and half-witted as ever. At least you get a feel that the director is actually taking this movie seriously so there is some plausible momentum.
Still no word from the lazy-ass property manager whether or not there's gonna be children roaming the halls in search for goodies. Motherf*ckers aren't giving us much time to plan ahead. Pisses me off, man!

Before I leave today, can I just say that I haven't gotten one gawddamn thing done today? Well, part of the problem is that I've been trying my best to get this damned thing to work on the template I created (for the most part). I can see the appeal to this now. One thing I like about this Blogger is that you have almost free autonomy over how it looks rather than settling for one of them pre-fab templates suggested. Anyhoo, I think I'm just writing about nothing just so that I have something to post & publish. I'm such a fuggin' geek!
P.S.-- Most of them hosted blog-comments services are not accepting new registrants. Is there a way where I can host my own? Anyone able to help a fella'???

Hiya, Folx! As you might already have noticed, I've been converted to Bloggerism since BriYam thought it would help me to update more often. Only bad thing now is that I gotta do those links about who I am, what's this site all about, am I really 9.7 inches or just 9.5 inches long...yadda yadda yadda...
