**********HYBRID SPORTS???**********

*ahem* So......I caught my first Slamball game on The New TNN (a.k.a. Spike TV...but don't tell Mr. Lee I said that). I really don't know what to make of it. I was laughing my fuggin' ass off seeing grown men jump around on trampolines and sh*t, yet I was thoroughly entertained and impressed by the athletic abilities of these...uh...athletes? Here's a truncated description from the website:

"It's non-stop, hard-hitting, human video game action played on a revolutionary trampoline and spring-loaded surface. The New TNN is proud to be the home of SlamBall, the first hybrid team sport that combines the fast-court action of basketball with elements of football, hockey, lacrosse, and gymnastics. SlamBall features outrageous hard-core athletes who perform athletic feats never before seen in professional sports."
Yeah...I guess...let's see if it lasts longer than the XFL, shall we?

**********DRUG TEST**********

So I had to go to some medical facility to get a drug test done before I officially start work. I drank a large Diet Coke at lunch so I wouldn''t be "gun shy" when the time comes. Filled out the forms and off I went with this bald headed bear of a man-nurse. When we got to the "exam room", he told me that I had to empty out my pockets before I go piss all over my hands. Let me tell ya, that "cup" was more like a fuggin' one gallon bucket, and to make matters worse, the bolohead male nurse marked a line way the f*ck up there! Excuse me???!!! Do I look like a f*ckin' camel?!! Do I have a f*ckin' hump on my back where I can just "produce" the quantity of liquid required on a whim?!! Sh*t like that takes time and proper planning, man! And to make matters worse, he told me NOT to flush and that he'd be waiting right outside...yeah, apply more pressure on me, you sadistic sunuvabitch!

So here I am, cup in hand and positioned oh so carefully so no drop would be lost in the process. I hear the fugger talking to someone outside, and in my mind I was like, "Shut the f*ck up!!!". Then I started feeling something make its way down...slowly but surely...when all of a sudden it pulls back just millimeters away from liberation. This happened a few times until finally a steady trickle made its way into the tub they call a "cup". Concentration turned the "trickle" into a steady stream. The bucket was filled halfway to the goal mark when I felt the "well" drying up. I broke out in a cold sweat as I used my abdominal muscles to sqeeze everything I had or could come up with! Light-headed with exhaustion, I could faintly see the liquid barely touching the lowest level of the black line marked on the bucket. I knew Mr. Willy had it in him! Yay for Mr. Willy!!! Mr. Willy saved the day!!!

Little known fact about me (and my g/f) is that I'm the "housekeeper" per se in the relationship. The only place that I literally drag my g/f to when we visit Macy's is the cookware and appliances department...love that place! Anyways, it might be interesting to note that I get giddy when I buy stuff like that...especially when I get them dirt cheap! Take that iron on top of my recent purchase. The Rowenta Ultra Professional was marked down to $99.99 from $129.99 at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Tack on my 20% Off coupon that arrives in the mail every month or so and BAM! another $20 knocked right off! That's $50 off the MSRP, or 38.464% in savings! God Bless America!

Ok...back to my scheduled R&R session.

**********SLAYING MONSTERS**********

My Princess Warrior, after many years of diligent training, saved the both of us from impending death and destruction when she valiantly fought and slayed the demon arachnid-monster. All hail the Pricess Warrior for she has brought peace and prosperity to this great land! Gaze upon the corpse of the conquered beast and fear no more!

..........that is until the Princess Warrior makes you scrape the fugger off the wall. Oh how I love throwing the balled up Kleenex at her! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

**********EXTENDED WEEKEND**********

  • Friday: Snuck out in the morning to surprise my g/f with some breakfast from McD's...went to Macy's at Union Square to size the Skagen watch I got from my g/f for my b'day (nice pic I took above might I add *grin*)...walked around a bit for some light window shopping...ate dinner at Naan n' Curry on Jackson...watched Pirates of the Caribbeans...although I'm not a huge, huge fan like my g/f, I thought Johnny Depp was a remarkable pirate in the movie, which was a big diff than the character he played in 21 Jump Street...hahahahaha!

  • Saturday: Woke up a little later than usual and headed straight for the Shoreline Amphitheater for The Sounds of Hawaii which is an annual Hawaiian concert event. My g/f's old high school chums had a booth out there so we decided to help out...turned out that they REALLY needed help since they were easily the busiest non-food vendor out there. My g/f helped out with the Hawaiian jewelry where she got pissed off with Jerome of The Makaha Sons...I didn't know what was going on till I saw my g/f giving Jerome and his wife heat about something...I whispered under clenched jaw, "Psssst...that's one of the Makaha Sons!!!" Not a fan, she glared back with a "I don't give a f*ck" look...hahahahaha!...spent the entire day and night there, and we'll definitely be back next year given the chance!

  • Sunday: Cooked up some brunch fare...drove down to Brentwood to pick our own fruits...ended up that the only gawddamn thing in season that we could pick ourselves were peaches and nectarines and nothing else (at any orchard!)...ate dinner at Schooners in Antioch...went home and relaxed.

  • Monday: Ate lunch at CPK in Emeryville...went to the Claremont Resort and Spa for a couples spa package...ended up getting there late and our 25 minute aromatherapy bubble bath turned into a 5 minute bath...massage was awesome!...spent the rest of the day at the pool getting a tan and doing a few pitiful laps in the pool (too relaxed to swim, y'know?)...went home and chilled.

  • Looks like my job search has finally come to an end. Now I can focus on rest and relaxation hehehehehe!

    **********GUILTY PLEASURES**********

What am I saying now, bitch?

In hindsight, I guess I felt like the cat in the pic above where people who are in a more "authoritative" are so far removed from the rankerings of their underlings that at times they need some kind of objective interpreter to effectively communicate anything that was not work-related with them. Most attempts are usually ill-timed and ill-received. Go figure...

In any case, although I haven't been as proactive as I should be, I've already have an offer in hand for a very reputable company that I'm sure most peeps in NorCal enjoy their products to one extent or another. I'm trying to hold out on giving them a definite answer until I try to score an interview with one of the largest financial institutions in the U.S. I hate being put in this situation....ugh! What's the harm in trying, right?

It's late, and I'm holding out on dinner until my g/f comes home from work at around 10:30pm. Don't ask me why, but I kinda like eating late at night. Reminds me of the summer nights I've spent in Hong Kong where my Uncle and cousins use to sneak me out to sehk siu yeh (eat a midnight meal) at one of them outdoor dai pai dong (street restaurant vendors). Mmmmmm...them fried pidgeons/quails were awesome!!! Anyone know if they have that here in SF? C'mon! There's gotta be somewhere that makes it just as good as HK!

**********FREE AT LAST! FREE AT LAST!**********

What's disconcerting is the fact that the HR director only asked me only one question after I handed over the necessary paperwork: "Is there anything else I can do for you?" I was like, "Well, f*ck you, too!!!" Goes to show that I made the right decision to leave that cold, corporate environment. Actually, I don't blame the HR manager since I was the last exit interview in a long line of exit interviews that day. I believe there were about 4 or 5 peeps (including me) that left the firm that day. Gee...what the hell does that tell a more-or-less intelligent person?

    On to more important venues...

After reading either Sarah's, Glenda's, Peggy's, or some other hot chick's blog, I just had to get me one of them PureHeart personal-sized watermelons from my local grocer. At first, I was just intrigued by how cute those mini-me-melons were, but at $4 a pop, they weren't cute anymore. However, after I cut into it, I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that there was hardly any white rind on the sucker. One bite into the succulent fruit made a believer out of me! Da buggah was soooooo sweet, brah! I'm sorry to say this, but them melons are a slight notch above my beloved Kahuku watermelons *sob*.

As you can tell, I'm playing around with my camera and experimenting with different ISO settings and zoom features. Plus it gives me an excuse to show off my two little dudes. I'm such a doting Daddy!

    **********ALMOST THE END**********

Man! Where has the time gone? The beginning of the week was kinda hellish with back-to-back interviews and follow-up interviews. On top of all that, I had to get all these damned forms filled out. And on top of THAT, I had to go around and clear out my drawers that had sh*t from when I started! Good lawd I'm glad it's almost over.

To balance things out, I think my streaming turtle cam is up and running, but since my computer at home is gasping at 600Mhz w/ 512MB of RAM, there are certain problems and limitations:

    • First of all, the javascript used for the streaming cam has known issues with company firewalls let alone the version of Java currently used by your browser.
    • I can only allow 5 peeps to view the cam at any one time.
    • Each "peep show" only lasts about a minute before you need to press refresh/reload.
    • There's an offset chance that if there are 5 peeps viewing the cam and press reload at the same time, my computer will blow up and burn my apartment complex down. This is NOT an invitation to see if you can get me to cry my eyes out in front of KRON 4 news cameras with my burning apartment in the backdrop!
    • I can't have the cam running 24/7, so I'll try to have it on until 11pm when the timer turns off the turts' light. Too bad cuz it's cute how it takes only 5 minutes before they find their own little sleeping area and doze off.

    One more day till Liberation!!!

    **********SOME RANDOM TIDBITS**********

Tidbit #1: It just HAD to be the last few days of my employment at this company that I find a hidden Yank Sing oddly located in this sketchy-ass alley. You would never have known it was there unless you 1.) stumble upon it like I have, or 2.) the person who stumbled upon it told you. Best part of all? The take out menu items are about a $1 cheaper than the one in Rincon! F*ckin' score!!!

Tidbit #2: I know now I made the right choice in leaving this firm. I'm sitting next to this budding senior auditor who was complaining about how much travel she's done these past few months and how glad she's back in the city and participating in some extracurricular activities (e.g. running/fitness club, toastmasters, etc.). She even started planning on a few getaways next week to Tahoe and L.A., etc. Well, someone up there thought she hasn't traveled enough so they're sending her ass to Redding, CA! I had no idea where the f*ck that is so I mapped it...it's all the way up f*ckin' north close to Oregon!!! Best part is that she has to drive there! Dude, if I were inconvenienced like that, I'd find a way to make the firm pay for a Buddy Holly plane-ride to that gawd-forsaken place!

Tidbit #3: So I was playing around with this TTS (Text-to-Speech) demo thang, and thought how cool it would be to use for my outgoing voicemail message on my cell phone. Wanna hear what you'd get when you call my cell phone?

Tidbit #4: My g/f's got July 4th and the following Saturday off!!! Yay!

Tidbit #5: I'm trying my darndest to get a live, streaming turtle cam online. I've gotten complaints that my little turts don't move much (they're turtles afterall, dammit!!!) Since I'm not tech savvy, it's taking me a bit of time to make sense of what I have to do. Phooey!

    **********I BE ONE INTELLIGENT GUY**********

I took this sample Wonderlic Personnel Assessment Test and scored 15/15 baby!!! Yeah, boyeeee!!! What did y'all get (be truthful!)?

Update: I took another IQ test (60 hardass questions)...kinda looked legit to me. Although I won't tell you exactly what I got, but I'm in the upper range of "highly intelligent" leaning towards "gifted" (by 3 points dammit!!!). This one took me some time, so be warned!

    **********RECOUNTING THE WEEKEND**********

  • Friday *night*: G/f and I met up with Dave, his fiance (no pic...must protect the innocent!), and the Yam Boyz for dinner at Hotaru in San Mateo since I thought Dave and his Hello Kitty love were coming from Cupertino (but they lived closer than I thought! hahahaha!). Y'know, ever since Peggy introduced us to the culinary wonders of San Mateo, we find ourselves rather attracted to that area. I guess the pace of things down there are akin to what you'd experience in Hawaii.

  • Saturday: I...did...nothing...but...caught up on...DVD's!

  • Sunday: Had lunch with my g/f at Porridge King at Skyline Plaza...dropped g/f off at work...did some light shopping...went home to finish up watching the rest of the DVD's I've been meaning to watch (now I'm all caught up and ready for the next Netflix shipment...picked up g/f from work...ate dinner at E Komo Mai...got pissed off at some f*ckin' joker who was smoking in the bar in the other room and permeated the dining room with the foul stench...called it a night.

  • Oh look! My comment function works now *ahem*.
