**********SOME RANDOMNESS**********

The only culinary creation I'm rather proud of is my Chinese fermented black bean & chili sauce (that I make from scratch the old school way, beeyatch!). Ordinarily, I wouldn't use the chili paste (with seeds) for the sauce but rather those small yet potent chili peppers. However, I don't think my g/f would be appreciative of my penchant for extreme spiciness. She shouldn't be surprised since I did fall in love with her!

Yessss!!! Another point on the kiss-ass scoreboard!!!

Can you believe that I made a dish using one-year old chicken meat?!! It still stayed fresh in the Foodsaver vacuum bag! I was a bit disappointed with my garlic spinach, though. Must add a bit more sugar next time.

AND of course...my second attempt at making a Lava Flow (sorry 'bout the sideways pic...for some reason I didn't save my edits and can't do anything about it from work). This time, I sweetened my strawberry puree with some Splenda, so at the very least it tastes good even though my drink still looks like it's hemorrhaging.

I'm in love with this toilet! I'd encourage y'all to check out the website, cuz I think I'd explode with enthusiasm if you make me talk about this technological achievement!

**********PILATES...WILL KICK YO ASS!**********

As some of you might already know, for some strange reason I'm really into pina coladas. Actually, I'm more into Lava Flows which is basically a pina colada with a swirl of strawberry daquiri for the molten lava effect. Here's my latest attempt:

I used fresh strawberry puree instead of a daquiri mix, but by doing so makes the drink look more like a hemorrhage than a lava flow. Oh wells...lotsa TGIF Pina Colada mix left to strive for perfection...

So after dinner I had this irresistable urge to drive down to Bed, Bath and Beyond again to buy myself a pilates ball for a makeshift workout bench (y'know...to do dumbell flies/presses and such). Whoever thought that including a friggin' midget unicycle tire pump in the box to inflate a ball the size of King Kong's left nut was a funny idea...well, bitch, it ain't...you should be shot. Halfway into my pumping frenzy, I decided to put the stopper in the hole and go outside to do something other than humiliating myself. Next thing I know I hear the TV in the room play some wack spa/meditation music and my g/f has commandeered my ball for some midnight pilates action...

Can't get mad, can I? Too damned cute!!!

**********EVENTFUL YET EVENTLESS WEEKEND**********

Friday *night*: We were scrounging for a place to eat on Friday, so I decided to take my g/f somewhere "different"...or at least a place she hasn't gone before. One thing about the Elephant Bar I really like is its location and decor. It's pretty cool that almost every seat in the establishment faces the window with a view of planes landing and taking off from SFO. Other than that, I didn't care too much for the food, especially having to wait over an hour for a seat. The very fact that our meal came out minutes after ordering got me suspecting the worse...it wasn't far from it lemme tell ya. Called it a night (on the throne). If you're massochistic, go for it:

Elephant Bar

Saturday: We spent the majority of the day enjoying a meal with Peggy, Ash, and Summer, Sarah and P-Daddy, and of course the ever-elusive Sonny Swank. It just amazes me that although we've only met up a handful of times in person, I feel quite at ease with these fellow webbies. Needless to say it was a freakin' blast hangin' out with all of them! Let's do it again soon, guys!

Sunday: Since we wanted to check out the Asian American Expo in San Mateo (that and I got all worked up thinkin' about it), we decided to stuff ourselves silly at Hotaru on 3rd Ave. After figuring out where the expo center was, we were repelled away from the event by a fat sign that said "$7 parking". We were like *raises middle fingers* to paying not only for the parking but also $8/person admission price. C'mon! $23 for what really?!! Ended up getting a few things at Bed, Bath and Beyond and spotlights at Home Depot for the turtles. Nothing much else uber exciting after that. One thing I hafta say is that the TGIF brand Pina Colada mix is the f*ckin' sh*tz!!!

**********ERRATIC BEHAVIOR************

So I'm forcing myself to drink an extra 64oz. of water a day in addition to what I normally drink. I suppose this is healthy, but the side effects suck! Sometimes it feels as if I have to pee real bad only to have a few spurts cough out, while other times it goes ape-sh*t on me where I start to get nervous that the urinal will start overflowing any minute. It's unpredictable...that's all I'm sayin'. One cool thing that I've experienced is that when I drink all that water after a MSG-ladened lunch, I tend not to fall into a stupified coma. This doesn't give me free reign to eat all the dirty Chinese food I want, but it's a definite alternative to caffeine for me.

Update: Today, I pissed for so long that I actually outlasted two other dudes who came in one after the other! Woo Hoo! I'm the Piss King!

**********SMALL KINE HOME IMPROVEMENT**********

We went to IKEA on Sunday and ended up getting a new dresser and matching night stands for a little under $260 (cheap sh*t, huh?). I've decided that building anything with more than 3 drawers seriously sux ass, but at least our bedroom is starting look a bit more coordinated...more coordinated than our old, mis-matched furniture from our college days hehehehe. The only thing missing now is a headboard. We thought about getting a matching bedframe, but it didn't make sense to get rid of our box spring for the sake of conformity. It's unprobable that we'd find a birch veneer headboard, so we thought we'd be creative and nail up one of them schnazzy rugs from IKEA to kind of bring the room together. Better yet, I'll make my own headboard by getting some wood from Home Depot and nailing the rug to it! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Whatcha think of my idea?

**********YET ANOTHER ELEVATOR ADVENTURE**********

Work...it's like a vise...made out of the highest grade titanium...and my nuts are in them...

At least my company provides me endless avenues for venting my frustration. On my way back up to work in the elevator lobby, a pair of gabbing hens made a mad dash towards an elevator that was just about to close its doors by pushing me to the side. They f*ckin' pushed me! Can you believe that sh*t?!! I surmised that they were union workers up in payroll and were late since unionized workers are slaves to the clock (sidebar: why do admin. assistants and clerks need to unionize? *shrug*). Unhurt but pissed off, I also ran into the same elevator, and only the three of us were in the cab. For obvious reasons, I wanted the awkward moment in the elevator to marinate a bit as I glared over at them with nary a grin on my face. Since their department is a couple of floors from the top, I decided not to punch my floor number. Instead, I practiced my satanic curses while listening in on their anxious conversation. As I suspected, they were late for some kinda meeting, and that was all the ammo I needed. I pretended to be lost in my own thoughts when suddenly I issued an "Oh! I forgot to press my floor button" gesture and hit the floor above me. A few seconds later, I was like "Ooops...silly me...." and hit the floor I'm on, thus delaying them further by two stops!!! Yeah, bitches! Hooz yo daddy now, muthaf*cka?!!!

**********FEW PARTING SHOTS**********

We squeezed in as much sun as possible on our last day in San Diego. I called to see if we could checkout later citing the "we're running a little late" excuse, which is true since tanning ourselves and having lunch poolside would definitely have pushed us past the normal 12pm check out time *evil grin*. After forcing ourselves to leave the hotel, we returned the rental car (we drove w/ a flat tire our entire stay!), and headed to the airport and eventually got back home in the evening.

As an aside, can I just say that United Airlines suck ass?!! Not only were they oversold on their flights (which I think is a f*ckin' stupid contingency for Memorial Day Weekend), they delayed our flight a couple of hours, and made us sit staggard on both departing and returning flights! F*ckers!

Anyhoo...just a few more pics...

Aloha Oe, San Diego!

**********WOT WE WEN' DO DA DAY AFTAH**********

This past Sunday was a long but extremely enjoyable. Last time we were in San Diego, we kinda just stayed near/around downtown since the weather sucked sweaty donkey balls. This time I planned on fully exploiting the warm temps and clear skies by driving up and down the coast. Since my g/f wanted to exchange her Dooney & Bourke bag she got for her b'day from her younger brother and parents for a much larger/practical bag (I'm rubbin' off on her hehehehehe), I figured it was a great excuse to drive all the way up to Costa Mesa's South Coast Plaza to exchange the bag, grab some lunch at Claimjumper (first time eatin' there!), a bit more light shopping, and finally a drive down the coastal highway. We passed by Oceanside, Encinitas, Del Mar, Solano Beach, and ended up spending the rest of the day walkin' around La Jolla shores area. I personally LOVED La Jolla!

Caught in the act...exchanging gifts is a no-no!

Claimjumper food = huge n' yummy!

**********WOT WE WEN FO' DO ON MY G/F'S DA KINE BIRT'DAY*********

So I fibbed to my g/f and informed her that we'd spend the weekend at Cache Creek up near Sacramento. I saw her face drop when I told her that we'd spend her b'day/Memorial day weekend in a Native American casino up in nowhere's-ville despite the fact that they've turned into a casino "resort". Ah wells...I couldn't hold it in any longer (especially when we got to SFO), so I surprised her, "Oh...change of plans. We're going to San Diego instead."

Being coy...at the BART station
