Needless to say, we're going to be out of town for Thanksgiving now that we've established free room and subsidized board in another town. Hopefully there will be more substance to my updates post-Thanksgiving as these past few weeks have been rather blah...even by my standards. Just a few items of note:

  • My department is experiencing huge turnover (though no one's leaving the company...just going to other departments). This could be both a good and a bad thing. Great opportunities, but a sh*tload of interviewing and training on top of SEC and other regulatory deadlines...f*ck me!

  • I'm trying to do 90% of my Christmas shopping online. The other 10% will be this coming Friday at 7 am running through Staples getting a few things including a cheap 160GB internal hard drive I'm planning on turning into an external hard drive...that or I'll swap it with my existing 80GB and turn that into an external HD »»geek««.

  • I'm also debating on whether or not I should make good on taking up a new hobby...building a desktop PC. I'm more likely than not going to sell the finished product at cost, but I'm wondering if there's a demand for my finished product.


    • In any case, I'll be back sometime next week or so with pics and updates. Have an awesome Thanksgiving holiday weekend everyone! Eat, eat, eat!!!

  • Went to the dentist today...found out that I have "deep pockets" which will require a painful deep cleaning and "root plating (?)"...got one cavity...got a cleaning which made my mouth look more like Manhattan clam chowder than anything else...will probably need to take out all my wisdom teeth...just good news all around *fffft*.

  • My g/f recently commented that I looked really pale and was worried that I might be ill with some kinda anemia. Moisturizing my face one morning taking a real good look at how pale my face has become, I glanced down at the bottle of moisturizer and in bold letters read SPF 15! *slaps forehead* I've since changed to a non-SPF formula and have gained some color back...

  • Looking forward to Thanksgiving holiday! First time in years I don't have to prepare/cook the damned turkey!

  • REALLY looking forward to going back home to Hawaii for 2 full weeks!!! This'll be the first time in...in...years we get to stay that long! Gotta love the fact that my g/f is out of retail! Fo' Schizzle!

    I saw this recipe in the newspaper the other day, and after scanning through the list of ingredients, I noticed that I had just about everything (including the chicken wings!) in the fridge except for the condiments used to make the dipping sauce. I did, however, substitute the "chili pepper" called for in the recipe with two, ripe, plump Habanero peppers...my lips are still numb. Simple recipe, awesome results! Here y'all go...

    **********PREVIEW RECAP**********

    This past weekend was full of potential that wasn't fully realized. We were crazy enough to drive down to LA for the weekend (so I can experience my first Knotts-"Scary" Farm), but my g/f strained her neck when she sneezed lying down on the couch (don't ask me how...she just did!). Lots of haunted places and tours to explore in SF, but indecisiveness got the better of us. In the end, it boiled down to carving pumpkins and walking thru the controlled mess called Halloween at the Castro.

    Got me a busy week with a tight deadline...boooo (the other kind of "boooo" that is)...
