I guess I should learn to chill out a bit when things don't go our way. Fortunately for us, our photographer kicked some major ass for us. Not only did she have a keen eye and quick trigger finger for those "once in a lifetime" stills, she rushed development so that we'd have our pictures right before we leave for the mainland. Needless to say I worried for nothing, and the results came out waaaaay better than I expected.
Mucho Mahalo's to Geralyn and Hokuli'i Images! Can't wait to take our wedding pics now that it's more of a guarantee we'll have more control over the environment we'll be shooting in.
So while my Mom is preparing dinner *wide grin* before I leave Honolulu, I can't help but think that this time around the transition from SF to HNL wasn't quite was jarring as the last visit. It's as if I just drove down to San Jose to visit family. Perhaps the recent warm weather in SF helped dull the usually stark contrast between the two cities, but I think it's more my subconcious mind telling me that it's time to move back to the Aina. I haven't felt this at ease in......gawd knows how long!
*sigh*...time to pack...

Sunset at the Koko Marina Harbor |
Man what a frickin' crazy ass day I had yesterday. It all started with a drive into Aiea Heights for an airbrush makeup trial session. I've never had makeup put on me before, but I can say that I much prefer the airbrush method since it's so light and durable! Lasted the entire day and night!
........Holy sh*t! Did I just fuggin' say that?!!........
Anyhoo, throughout the entire day we were pretty much sh*tting bricks cuz we didn't know whether ("weather" rather) or not our engagement photo session was going to be canceled since it was raining off and on in Kailua/Lanikai. I was progressively getting pissed throughout the day since it was starting to look like an imminent cancelation. Luckily, there was a long enough break in the intermittent showers throughout the day for a few shots. Unfortunately, it was windy as f*ck, so my expensive-as-hell hairdo got all f*cked up and looked pretty much like a gawddamn mini-fro....F*CK!
Anyhoo, don't mean to bitch and complain about how my vanity got bruised, but I kinda shelled out a lotta money in the process for (plane tickets, makeup sessions, new pair of pants, etc.) for sub-par pics. Grrrrrrrrrr.......
At least I'm back home for a day and a half more.

Before you fall off your chair laughing your ass off, lemme just say that I grew my hair for 2 months on purpose just so that the stylist would have "more" to work with, ok??? | At first I thought the dude didn't do anything and that I wasted a butt-load of cash, but in actuality he really put a lot of work into it and gave it a "style" that'll probably last for a while. The trick is to find someone cheaper that can maintain this look *sigh*. |

Can I just say that we're horribly addicted to Lost? The first night, we watched like the first 5 episodes. Subsequently, we've tapered off to about 2 - 3 episodes...not that we can't handle 5 a night (cuz belieeeeeve me we would), but we don't want it to end too soon! Wanna pace ourselves so that we watch the last few episodes or so on our way back to SFO from HNL. My poor fiance stayed up an hour past her bedtime cuz we just keep getting sucked right back in!
After work today, we're going to turn in our old Pentium I and III CPU's (yes...I still had them around the apartment), CRT monitor, keyboards, an old mouse, and a bubble jet printer for recycling. I think I mentioned earlier how much of a f*ckin' pain it was to find a damn place to recycle your old computer parts that I was just gonna give up and dump it in the trash (after I stomp on the hard drives a few thousand times) like every other environmentally complacent person out there. The most convenient for me were the dropoff locations and times that the CRC offered (just 3 blocks away from my apartment).
Afterwards, I'm gonna get my very first froo-froo, expensive-as-hell salon haircut at the same place my fiance went to get hers. If you don't know by now, I usually go to Supercuts every month to get my 1½ blade off the sides and back and 1 inch trim off the top. My fiance has obviously spoken her mind about what she thinks about my current haircut by being all too eager to book my appointment for me. Aiyah! I'll let you all know how it turns out.

A comment yesterday left me pondering about what the heck happened to Spring? Accordingly, we're about a week away from officially being Summer, and I don't recall there ever being a distinct "Spring" season. For me at least, it went from January to now with a 2nd week of sustained warm weather. Huh...life just passed me by without even a memo or a post-it to tell me where it's going...go figure...
Haven't talked about wedding plans, but there won't be much to say until we go back home to really kick it into 3rd gear. Sadly, I don't think we can squeeze some R&R during our visit. I mean the morning after our arrival we have an 8am appointment with one of two potential makeup artists fer cryin' out loud! Oh wells...life can be worse, right? hehehehe
So I bought me a pair of new "ear bud" style headphones from Amazon.com, and I have to say that this was a good purchase. Sony's "Fontopia" earbuds have these rubber suction-cup buds that fit in your ear (they come with three sizes of buds to fit most peeps), and it really blocks out a ton of ambient noise...all too well as some of my coworkers can attest to as they stand quizzically in front of my cube entrance waiting for me to respond...Anyhoo, it's a great price ($32 no tax & free shipping) compared to retail ($50 + tax in most locations). My only gripe is that this thing produces too much bass at times, but that's not too bad if you're watching an action flick on your laptop. Anyhoo, just needed to beef up today's entry with a little filler...

Aaaaaaah, yesssss...it's most definitely springtime...sunshine and warm weather...
...and children... children playin' outside of my apartment...lots n' lots o' children...lots n' lots of children screamin' and yellin' at 8:00AM IN THE F*CKIN' MORNING!!!...
...and birds...baby birds...lots n' lots of baby birds SHRIEKING at the top of their puny lungs to get fed, those f*ckin' little bastards!...
Almost...ALMOST ready for fatherhood, but not quite yet.

This is how much of a dickhead I am:
There's this chick at work that got sick last week and is still coughing up her crotch every 2- 3 minutes. I swear to gawd I can see a plume of viruses and bacteria mushrooming above her cube! All I want to do is throw my chair through the window and toss the bitch out!!! I can't stand it anymore! Our company has separate sick days from vacation days and not them hybrid "PTO" kinda deals. They'll remain "sick" days even if you don't use 'em, so my advice to the virally compromised is to STAY THE F*CK HOME UNTIL YOU'RE F*CKIN' BETTER, GAWD F*CKING DAMMIT!!! Is that too much to f*ckin' ask?!! Huh?!! Is it?!!
*pulls hair out and weeps*

Sorry, folx. It was "that" time of the month for me....month-end close. Unfortunately, my big day is this Friday when I get to present my analyses to the controller and directors...fun.
So at about 5am this morning, my fiance scared the f*ckin' livin' daylights out of me when she shrieked and twitched like a banshee outta hell! I pretty much jumped up with my stomach in my throat wondering what the f*ck happened only to see my fiance entwined in a tangled mess of our flat sheet and comforter (which would explain why I was curled in a fetal position keeping myself warm...but that's another story). With my heart galloping a million beats a second, I waited for the right moment in her nightmare to pounce on her and tickle the sh*t outta her ribs. I must have timed it just right cuz she yelped and almost started flailing at me with punches and kicks! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Revenge is mine!!!
Turns out she had a nightmare about some pregnant woman brandishing a knife and chasing her around. Jeez...you can interpret that nightmare a million and one ways. It probably didn't help that earlier that evening I was poking her belly and chanting "Baby Made Here" or "Baby Factory Inside". Mah bad....

CELEBRATE DOUGHNUT DAY! - "Come in to participating Krispy Kreme retail stores on JUNE 3rd and to express our appreciation for you support, we'll give you a free doughnut of your choice!"...I always thought that while in line, they give you not only a "free" doughnut while you wait, it's one right off the production line fresh and hot! Ah wells...free is free, right?
I got pics to post later today...stay tuned!
...OK...it's technically "later"...
I'd have to rank Osmosis in my top 2 or 3 "best spa experiences" to date |
Every private "tea room" has its own Zen garden, which is a great way to start your treatment | Aaaaaaw yeah, baby! Buddha-style! | Since our parents' didn't want us to "jum cha" (pour tea) before the wedding, we thought we'd send them this pic instead |
View from the tea room | Their meditation garden | A tree fell in the middle of a forest...question is: did anyone hear it? |
Osmosis: The Enzyme Bath Spa 209 Bohemian Hwy Freestone, CA 95472 (707) 823-8231
After our 3 hour treatment, we were pretty hungry, so I figured we should at least patronize the restaurant that put Bodega Bay on the map.
The Tides Wharf & Restaurant was where Alfred Hitchcock filmed his classic "The Birds". The original, tiny restaurant burned down years ago, so they rebuilt it bigger n' better |
Non-pretentious, cozy atmosphere with an awesome view of the bay | Seafood sampler...probably THE freshest seafood I've had in California! |
Bowl o' chowdah | Chef's seafood special...crab, scallops, prawns, fish...oh my! | Steamed clams...best dish of the night! Kept dipping our bread in the garlic-wine clam broth! Broke da mout', brah! |
The Tides Wharf & Restaurant 835 Highway 1 N Bodega Bay, CA 94923 (707) 875-3652
Great way to end the day, wouldn't you say? |
