Scientists Capture Giant Squid in Photos!!!
- That's fuggin' nutz, dood!

Nutha Set Of Random Food Pics

Took the Goddess to Nordstrom's Bistro Cafe - despite a yearning for some Panda Express Orange Chicken - yet still no smile for the camera! Aaaargh!!!

Roasted chicken boob w/ pearl onions and garlic mash...surprisingly plump, juicy and flavorful!

Grilled chicken sandwich...they do chicken right 'round here!

My fiance has a love affair with the oven as of late. Her latest creation - Baked Chicken n' Broccoli Casserole

Awsome results despite the sh*tload of time it took to prepare the mofo. I must add that I brined the chicken meat for like 45 minutes and it turned out great!

So close, yet so far....
I got a little disappointed and a bit depressed when I finally came to the realization that going to the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas for our honeymoon cost too damned much *curses under breath*. I mean it comes to about a grand a day! Now I'm puttering around half-heartedly looking for an alternative destination. We played around with notions of other destinations like Cancun, but nothing really "stuck" as a great baby-making station honeymoon location. So f*ckin' bummed, man...

Any suggestions that won't put us in the poor-house would be greatly appreciated. No honeymoon in Hawaii, thank you very much......

Random Food Pics

Baked Penne Pasta my fiance made for the first time...yum yum!

BriYam DID warn me about how nasty these White Castle burgers were...don't understand why Harold and Kumar nearly killed themselves for these.

So I was reading this article and couldn't agree more with this quote -
"Fans of shows like 'Lost' know all too well how there's an escalating burden, along with the reward, involved with keeping up."
Troo...so troo...

I don't think I've ever been this excited over a season premiere week! Gotta get me a DVR, dude!

Thought we found a "hidden treasure", but turns out that we were the "Johnny-come-lately's"...by about a few years!

No appreciation...none whatsoever...of the artistic mastery that is my photography

Shrimp & Chives Dumplings...good but next time will opt for the good ole potstickers...thought we'd be different

"Hot Braised Chicken Wings"...spicy and tasty, but everyone else ordered their "dry" fried wings...the waiter had to come back like 3 times to make sure we wanted these...we initally passed him off as being senile and forgetful

"Black Bean Sauce Noodles"...found it rather bland, but I guess it was because I was expecting something stronger/more pungent in flavor like the Cantonese style of black bean sauce (sih jup)...gonna try a fried noodle dish my coworker suggested next time

Thumping, pounding, debilitating headache last night...couldn't look at a computer screen to save my life...

...but I was a trooper and managed, by the grace of the Gods, to watch the 3rd episode of the 5th season of the Sopranos...

Is it me or are they running out of actors/actresses that can pass for an Italian mobster? Steve Buscemi?!! Aw, c'mon!

Eh! Wachu wen' do dis weeken', brah?

Friday *night*
  • Sony Metreon (our favorite Friday night haunt)
  • Watched Just Like Heaven...formulaic romantic comedy...too many shots of North Beach area and not enough of other places in San Francisco if you ask me...dunno why but I was kinda uneasy with Mark Ruffalo starring opposite of Reese Witherspoon *shrug*
Saturday
  • Lunch at Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers in the Marina...best damned hamburgers and curly fries out there dammit!
  • Dropped by Paper Source to pick up the rest of our invitation enclosures, envelopes, and RSVP cards since we were content with how the prototype came out
  • Bought more inkjet vellum at Arch
  • Visited the Ribbonerie...no joke...a store chock-full of different kinds of ribbons...there's an adjoining warehouse in the back that sells some cool antique collectibles, too
  • Chores (laundry, dust, wipe, vacuum, mop...)
  • Dinner at Thai Stick...Crab Fried Rice w/ Curry Powder is what I keep coming back for
  • Stopped by Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf for some decaf...really got into this place after a few of our LA trips...FAR SUPERIOR TO STARBUCKS!!!...there's another one on 4th & Market St. FYI
Sunday
  • Good workout sans resident hahm sup lo...my triceps are hurting like a mutha!
  • Lunch at Hotaru
  • Target then Bed, Bath and Beyond
  • Dinner at San Tung after reading the short blurb on it in SF Chronicle's annual Bargain Bites...although we probably ordered stuff they're not known for, it was all quite tasty...a tad bit disappointed with the recommended black bean sauce noodles (kinda bland)...some pics to come tomorrow perhaps

It's gotta be something they add to the air conditioning duct, cuz I haven't met one US Postal Service employee with even a hint of a supressed sunny disposition! I tried smiling, making idle chit chat, cracking jokes...nothing seems to phase them! There are...what...four Post Offices within a 2 mile radius of my apartment, one of which is SF's distribution center, and virutally every employee I had the misfortune of dealing with feel as if God hates them (frankly, if He/She does, I really wouldn't be at all surprised)! I mean I've dealt with UPS and FedEx personnel before, and they always seem happy to help. Aren't they essentially providing the same service to the public? Man, if there were any reason why the USPS should be privatized.......

Anyf*ckin'hoo...

So my fiance and I watched In the Mood For Love the other night, and I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed. Perhaps I was looking for a little less subtlety with the way Tony Leung portrayed his character, but that was made up for by an unexpectedly great performance from Maggie Cheung. I read somewhere that the triple-threat (producer, director, and screenwriter) Wong Kar-Wai was extremely fickle and meticulous with his work. That's fine and dandy, but I think there was just too much emphasis on the imagery and camera-work that I felt it detracted from the overall storytelling...that and the lack of a more robust musical score (c'mon! 2-3 songs that repeat over and over and over and over?). At least HK cinema is evolving from those gurng si (vampire) horror/comedy flix I used to love watching as a kid. Speaking of which, what the f*ck happens to your knees when you die? Those friggin' vampires just hop around a lot (but fast enough to catch yo ass when you haul ass?)...

Versailles Cuban Restaurant

Pollo Versailles / Lechon Asado (roasted chicken / roasted pork) combo w/ rice, beans, and fried plantains

Yard House (Long Beach) - Ritmo Latino!!!

"Half a Yard" of beer = 1.5 feet of beer too much!

Guess I needed some help

All done! Aren't you proud of me, mommy?

E's Wine Bar...only reason why we went there was cuz of the eerily-cool blue lights...we men are such simpletons...

Oooo! Oooo! Group photo!

Soon Dubu ala Chef Mouji

I'm still trying to get the hang of this recipe, folx...doin' it all by my taste preference. At least the bowl I'm serving it in looks great with the dish (cuz we all know how presentation can be a very important ingredient)!

Heh...never thought you'd see pics up on this site again, eh? Foooooled yoooou!

Ain't nuthin' like coming back home after a 3-day weekend only to work until 10pm the next day...night...whatever!..........f*ck!

Truncated highlights (heh..."truncated"...odd/redundant modifier for "highlights"...I digress) of our 3-day weekend:

SaturdaySundayMondayI think that pretty much covers it. It's good to have someone chauffeur you around town to places you haven't been to before. I'll have a few pics up shortly.
